Although I had carved as a kid, Boy Scout neckerchief slides, pine-wood derby cars, walking sticks, projects in wood shop etc. I never really took it on as passion until I received Elma Waltner's book 'Carving Animal Caricatures' that was back in Dec. of 81. I haven't put down a carving knife since. At the time I went thru and carved nearly every animal in her book. Recently encouraged to review the 'old days', I discovered I only had few of them left. Many must have been handed out as gifts. Pictured are the remaining pieces in my possession.
