Big Bill, Sheriff of Toquerville 1982 Big Bill, Sheriff of Toquerville
Shortly after carving a group of animals from Elma Waltner's book I decided to have a go at carving people.
My first attempt at carving people was this bearded man taken from Bill Higginbotham's book 'Carving Country Charachters" Taken from Harold Enlow's book "How to carve faces in Driftwood" This piece has been thru a fire and is really dark. I liked carving the faces but stuck more with the caricature style figures.
Carved from the dovetail of an old log house. An unfinished face in wood.
